I am torn between these two knives. I think that the CQC-7a is discontinued, but I am not sure.

Any recommendations?

I would go with the 100 - slimmer profile, no wave, no tanto just fits me more.

I think you'll be really happy either way, tho.

I had the exact same issue when I got my 7A a few weeks back. I went with the 7A for the ergo's of the knife. I felt the A-100 was a cool knife and all. But for what I wanted to do with this knife, I felt the 7A would give a better and more comfortable purchase while doing heavy cutting which is exactly what I have been doing with it. I felt the straight grip of the A-100 would be better suited for my day to day lighter stuff when I finally pick one up. I have not been disappointed thus far.

Thats a tough choice, I would probably have to say go for the 7-A but the A-1 would still be a good one to go for.

Seen as I just recently purchased both, the Q-7 first and then the A-100
love them both :D
As I also carry Spyderco's, the 100 for me is the Millie and the 7 is the Para.
Which in knife speak, means you will eventually need both, one for going uptown and one for going downtown. :p

You guys are kill'n me here, but thanks for the input. :)

I think that I will go for the A-100 SF first, because the knife just calls to me. However, the 7A will be a close second...unless a CQC-11 beats it. ;)

Great choice! That's my downtown knife

I've owned both, prefer the A-100. Utility drop point gets a lot more use than the Tanto does, IMO.

Actually, Joe, I was thinking of the 7A, which is the spear point version, but I fully agree about the Tanto vs. anything with 'belly' issue. Thanks for the input.

In fact, thank you all for your input, as I now have an A-100 on the way!

For your second one the CQC7a also comes in its reincarnated wave-less form, heck by why stop there check out...ready for this....the M-Wave ( Mach ! with the wave ) these are still availble you just have to look.

Thanks, Jim, now you are really kill'n me!

I have a feeling that I will no longer have to worry about savings, because I won't have any. Aw well, perhaps Mary will send me a beanie. :)
