Been on a slipjoint kick lately, now I'm lookin for something of the" tactical" spear point variety. Narrowed it down to the A-100 or BM HK. Lookin for any opions on either, love BM and the axis lock but leaning towards the Emerson as I do not own one. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well I don't own an HK but I do own a Mini Rukus and I do own a A-100 and a mini A-100. The Benchmade is nice but I keep gravitating towards the A-100 due to it's simplicity and the fact it's so easy to take apart and clean if needed. I also was initially skeptical about the chisel grind but the A-100 out performs some of my other knifes in performance. Guess those folks at Emerson know what they are doing. :-)

As Lycosa says, "tough one" I own both models, but prefer the ergonomics of the HK14205. It's also very very smooth to open.

I don't own the Emerson, but I do own the BM14205 & I'd recommend this one. It's one of the best knives BM has ever put out IMHO.

The A100 never appealed to me even though I am a fan of Emersons. On the other hand, the 14205 is one of BM's best designs IMO. The 14205 wins hands down in my book.

14205. If you can search, check out STR's review of it. It's probably a few years old, but it's what lead me to mine. I have a 14210 as well (like the '205's little brother). Seriously though, it's a great knife.

(if you can't search through the forums, you could do a google search of "site:bladeforums.com" no quotes. That'll allow you to search the forums.)
