I've read on BF that the Emerson A100 has a really good liner lock, strength wise.

Does anyone know what the thickness of the lock is? And would you concur that it's really strong?

Thanks.

I just wonder if only Emersonaholics go over to that other place.

It wouldn't surprise me if someone who has an A100 but only looks here in the general area might not pull his out and measure it...

Either way is cool.

i dont know how thick the lockbar is, but one of my friends, who is not a big knife person(and kinda an idiot) has put his though hell...all kinds of abuse (he has thrown it at trees for fun) and the lockup is still solid...its a great knife

Don't have mine on me right now to measure but can whole heartedly recommend as a great, tough knife. I gave mine a break from work and only edc outside of my work. If no one has posted by tomorrow I will let you know.

I bought one A-100 and liked it so much that I promptly bought another. They are strong as hell, yet classy enough for church. The A-100 is also very secure and comfortable in hand. I recommend them 100%.

I ended up with a total of 3. I bought them up quick when I saw a dealer that had them in stock. I LOVE the locking side liner is almost twice as thick (almost) as the alternate side. the blade shape is perfect, and the thing carries easy.

Thanks for all the replies.

I emailed Emerson this morning and they got back to me and told me the thickness of the liner lock on both the A100 and the Mini A100 is 0.060", and there is no cutout anywhere. That's PLENTY thick, much thicker than the cutout on the framelock knives I have, such as the Zero Tolerance 0300 which mics at 0.040", and that ZT 0300 framelock sure seems very strong.
