What do you guys think of the Mini CQC7? I'm thinking about getting one for EDC/utility stuff. I currently EDC a BM 707D2 and was wondering how the Mini CQC7 compares in size in the pocket etc..

Thanks in advance.

Can’t go wrong with the CQC-7 mini seeing as it’s really well made, the small size is good for a EDC knife cause it gives a very low pocket profile if any depending on which pocket you would carry it in, but compared to the BM 707D2 it is more flatter and rather rectangular shaped so even if someone saw it in you pocket they would most likely think it is a money clip, it’s also good if you have medium or small hands because it does feel small kind of like a Swiss Army knife.

I handled most of the Emerson knives since a store near my place has pretty much the entire line except some of the Commander and Bullnose Karambits. The feel is solid mainly because it sits flatly in the palm of your hand, it is also extremely light and you would barely notice you are carrying it so long tasks or quick slashes and stabs with the knife. Depending on the type of utility tasks you use the knife on it can either be perfect or decent but take a look at both versions of the CQC-7 and the HD version which has the larger titanium lock and see which is suited for you.

Thanks for the advise. I purchased a mini and have been carrying it for about a week. I'm very impressed. It is fatter, but fits very well in my medium hands. The handle is just right for the size of blade.

I am considering a larger cqc-7 and the HD is in the running.

No Problem! :D Glad you are happy with your Emerson CQC-7 mini.

The larger CQC-7 with the HD titanium lock is fantastic as well, you might want to take a look at the Super CQC-7 which is a lot larger and slightly heavier but feels more like a defensive weapon to carry around.
