I would love to see some pics of Emerson knives next to their Kershaw/Emerson versions. I have a super commander and have 3 of the Kershaw Emersons (cqc6k and 2 cqc7k). I am going to buy another Emerson and would love to see the comparisons. THANKS

I have seen both the real Emerson's, the Kershaw Emerson's in person, and when you look at both the difference are obvious. Unless your are on a tight budget, IMHO you should save for the real deal. There is a MAJOR DIFFERENCE IMHO.

BTW There have been several discussion about the Emerson Kershaw Collaboration on the Blade Forum about how well owners love, or dislike the collaboration knife.

Search out what owners are saying, and consider the information before making a buying decision.

Don't have the exact models but here's what you kind of asked for. My CQC7B with the Kershaw 8K and my WIFE'S CQC-6. I must say, the fit and finish is excellent for this price range! Unless you've held one of these Kershaws in your hands you can't possibly understand the hard work Kershaw did to make these just right. For the price range why not have these in your glove box, tool chest or desk at work?! I do!

There are several thing the Emerson Kershaw colabrations have going for them. Price, the clip is set up for Right Hand Carry, but is Pre Drilled for reversing the Clip to Southpaw Carry.

But what Kershaw calls a CQC-7K is not a clone of a Real Emerson CQC-7. Too me the Kershaw's are totally different in design and feel.

Think there big draw is MSRP is $49.99-$59.99. So considering what you can actually buy the Kershaw Emerson's for from on line dealer like BladeHQ. I they are attractive buy.

Me personally like I said looking at both offering at the same time, I am glade I bought the real EKI Emerson, MADE IN AMERICA, and still feel I got great value for dollar spent.

They weren't meant to be "clones" of existing EKI models, and just have a similar naming convention. The pricing scheme is so that more people have access to the design and ergonomics, and what makes Emersons popular. That said, I dont know how you can say that they have a "totally different design and feel" when they were designed by EKI. I find that they're just mostly smaller.

My point is the Kershaw Emerson, and REAL EMERSON HAVE A COUPLE OF SIMILAR FEATURES. But there is a big difference between the real Emerson, and Kershaw Emerson. One of the biggest difference is.

Steel.

Place of manufacturer.

Models do not clone or mirror one another.

I have edited my post as I had to go over to Scottsdale Arizona for a medical appointment, and drop by the place I call the knife candy story.

Got to take a second look at the Kershaw Emerson's again, and like I said they are nice for the money, or price point. But IMHO I would rather have my one REAL EMERSON CQC-7-BW than 4 or 5 of the Kershaw's.

The real Emerson's to me just feels beefier, like they will go with you to hel, and back.

just ordered a Kershaw Emerson cqc 8k and an Emerson cqc 15 off the auction site. There is NOTHING like the true Emersons though

I honestly would rather have one REAL Emerson, than 4 or 5 licensed Emerson's. Call me a snob, but you can feel the difference in weight, and the construction saw it will got to war if nessessary.

When I made my living in Photography it was always the heavy, but to be used hard, ever day Pro High End Camera Bodies I bought. Lenses were not the knock off brands that would fit the bodies. I alway bought the Brand Name, as they to were built tough.

Sometimes you just have to spend the extra to get better equipment. I think knives are not different. I like my Spydeco Rescue Jr. I have over over 12 years, it work for what I use it for. But it lasts it primary EDC Carry position to my Emerson CQC-7, as it is IMHO a better stronger emergency life, and death knife I hope I never have to use for a life, and death situation.
