Emerson, blades only...

Anyone know how to obtain a CQC7 blade w/o buying a new knife? Have to confess here.... I tried to sharpen my first 7 a while back and you can determine the outcome by the nature of my query...

It is a secondhand knife and I don't have any paperwork on it. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Contact Emerson directly. They will sell you a replacement blade.

Post a picture of what happened. It's possible that your blade isn't entirely ruined.

Yes this might be true, but they won't ship to New York. Says so right on the front page of their website. They also won't ship a blade, you'd have to send the knife in.

- I didn't even notice where the OP was from. Some states have the most ridiculous laws.
 
So the deal is.... I cant get anything done w/ my NY addy...

I can ship from NJ, no prob. Should I contact Emerson and ask em for a new blade? Would obviously expect to pay for it. The root of the question is do you guys think its even an option?

BTW... All the new laws here are really kinda over the top. They are in place to protect us all, but to what degree???
 
You will have to ship the knife to Emerson. I would use the NJ address. You're looking in the neighborhood of $120 plus shipping if it does indeed need a new blade. Been here...done this...

1Shot is correct. They can get you set up with a new blade. The laws are indeed outrageous, I'm sure that would be a lengthy and interesting topic for another subforum. Hope it works out.
 
Thanks guys. Much obliged for the feedback and responses. When I get the thing fixed/ returned Ill post the before and after shots. I will also certainly be posting up a new forum on the laws soon.

I know you just wanted a blade but you can find CQC-7's in the exchange now and then for the cost a replacement blade.
 
Emerson Knives is an awesome company to deal with. I have had a couple of knives re-bladed and the turnaround time is exceptional. They didn't even yell at me for a re-sharpening experiment.
