Hello folks,

I got some sad news. Today I got the new Herbertz catalog, and look who I find inside? Emerson knives. I've always liked Emerson's style, but selling via Herbertz might not be such a good idea.

Lemme explain :

Pic are too big, so I gave url's.

Note how on the tanto points in the first pic all look ground off.

But that isn't my real problem.

Pricing:

the two shown CQC-7's : 177.40 $ USD
the two SPECWAR'S : 252.67 $ USD
the griffe : 110.80 $ USD

second page :
Raven's : 252.67 $ USD
and last but not least commanders : 332.60 $ USD.

I think the prices speak for them selves, I don't need to add comments.
Needless to say, this Pi$$es me off bigtime.
I mean.. I can buy a commander in the US for 160 $, have it shipped here for 20 $ .. worst case scenario, customs add a bill, another 20 $ . So 200 $ MAX !

Can someone close to Ernest Emerson make him aware of this?

Any comments? What do you folks think of this?

I guess the dealers can demand any price they want. The question is if they can find someone stupid enough to pay that price.

The prices in the bigger German dealers´ catalogues (Böker, Herbertz) are a lot of fun to look at ("Hey, my collection is worth twice as much as I paid for it! It´s in the catalogue, it must be true!"), but I doubt they get to sell a lot of these knives.

They have to rely on buyers who make no research and never use the internet; even without importing from the US there are much cheaper sources for knives in Europe than Herbertz and the like.

Still, I doubt there is much anyone can do about this, other than us not buying from them.
