I just ordered my Combat Karambit yesterday. Now I'm having second thoughts. Who else has this knife that can rate it's performance for me?

Hole is a little small for my fingers. Otherwise I think it's a great blade.

How solid is the liner lock?
It seems like this has been an issue with Emersons. Could be great. Could need replacing. You won't know untill you get it.

Be sure to keep us posted about it.

I'm going to disagree. I know that in the past there were some issues with a few emerson lock ups, but overall it is a great knife, and emerson has fixed the issues.

I have a 2004 Bullnose karambit and it is great. I think it is a prefect sized EDC.

I have purchased more than ten Emersons in the last year and the lock up has been superb.

Only complaint I've heard on the Combat Karambit is the size of the hole is too small for those with "fat" fingers.

It should arrive tomorrow. Is there a solid "tang" around the ring or is it just the plastic handle part? It looks like the "tang" ends before the ring.

The spacer does end before the ring. Handle is G-10 and is very sturdy. I don't have a problem with this design.

As for integrity of the lock I have purchased three Emersons in the past year the knives being made from the years 2000-2004 and have had no problems. They are quite sturdy.

I notice that Emerson has a fixed Karambit out too. Geez, now I have two choices to decide from....decisions, decisions....I'm thinking the fixed version might be the one for me, but....I can't decide....

I know a knife dealer who has his choice of blades custom or production. His EDC is an Emerson Wave, the one with the recurve blade. He says it's a tank, the Wave is great and it has taken a lot of abuse in 2 years and still locks up like a vault.
