emerson commander satin serrated, original or fake from china

From the pics that looks fake to me, the serations dont look like they do on my serated EKIs and the thumb disc looks silver. on all my EKIs regardless of finish the discs are black. the satin finish also looks a bit odd.
id avoid that one i think.

it's definitely a fake. the logo is all wrong - doesn't have the "made in USA", doesn't have the wave patent and the placement is also wrong.

the thumbdisc is also wrong, doesn't have the bi-direction grooves.

the serrations are wrong.

I don't know about the G10 or screws though but an expert should be able to chime in.

I am not so sure it is a fake. I have owned an EKI with a silver thumdisk in the past. Just can't remember the year. I also owned a Commander that had serrations similar to those. I think when I was on USN that someone said they were called dragon teeth serrations. Also that looks like the hard chrome finish to me but then again I have been known to be wrong. Crap now I am so confused. keepem sharp

all EKI serrations are called dragons teeth IIRC.

the only silver thumb discs i am aware of on emersons are either customs or ECA stuff.

it also appears to have torx screws which is not correct on a commander.

Can't see the screws clear enough on my screen, so you could be correct if they are torx. I know the knife I had had a silver thumbdisk and I do know that it wasn't a custom or a collectors club knife. Bought it on the secondary market so it could have been changed out. If I remember correctly the thumb disk was squared off too. I wish I could find a pic of it. Anyways just on the good chance the Commander is a fake wouldn't buy it anyways. keepem sharp

sounds like somebody changed the disc to me, the screws look like torx but ya cant see 'em well enough to be 100%.
