Hi all

I am busy trying to decide on a folding knife, and have been looking at the Emerson knives, and liked the Commander, which has received lots of praise etc. I have also seen that there is the CQC 8 which is being offered as a special with surefire flashlights, and this also looks good. Any comments regarding either of these knives that might be useful to my decision would be much appreciated!

Thanks

if you are going to use the knives for utility... maybe consider other knives that are better, and less expensive....

search the forums, lots of people arent crazy about them anymore.

for self defence, and only self defence i guess theyre ok.

love my CQC8, carry a lot still, it works fins for utility also. commanders arent my fav though, and i like EKI's, dont ask me why, just not crazy about them

I've owned: Commander, Mini Commander, Mach 1, CQC7b-wave

In my experience, the only Emerson model I would recommend is the CQC7. Knives of the Commander frame, yes that includes the Mach 1, have trouble with slipping liner locks. The 7 never let me down.
