Hey Steve,

Im really digging your Emerson framelock conversions. I love my Emerson knives
but the only criticism I have is the liner lock is a little thin for my liking especially
on the folders around 4 inches.
Are you doing these conversions at this time? And how would you say your
conversions are similar and or differ from the HD-7. Im thinking since I cant find
any HD-7 that your conversions would be the next best thing. thanks,

I really appreciate your asking me about my conversions. I reazlize many of those are posted out there and in my blog. Unfortunately as of early 2010 I quit taking on jobs like that and the Spyderco lock back rebuilds. I did those for many years for folks but things just picked up so much in my pocket clip and pry bar projects that I've decided to focus on just those and my hand made folding knives from now on. These give me more than enough to do every week and I've pretty much limited my focus to just my pocket clips and pry bars mostly at this time with even my folding knives that I make myself taking a back seat to those.

As for how my models compared to the HD7 I'd say the concept was the same basically. My lock cuts were thicker where the lock was bent to put spring tension in it and my slab thickness was usually .160 vs .125 for the factory version. You could still get one like that if you want it but just not from me. If you like you can contact Reese Weiland to get one of those conversions of a CQC7 done by him. His are excellently worked and well worth the wait. You can find him with a simple Google search for "Reese Weiland Knives". Give him a call and he'll walk you through how to get one done by him.

Thanks again for stopping by.
