Just orderd one and wanted to see how good thay are. I carry a Benchmade 710. Thought I would try an Emerson knife. The CQC-10 seems to have a little of Syderco , Benchmade all in one knife. Thanks for any info.

the '10 is a good one, never really has been one of my favs but its mostly aesthetics, if ya like the looks i imagine ya will like the knife, EKI generally does a pretty good job.

only "cons" ya hear about EKI are:

*blade grinds - they are a little different than most others, none are a conventional "V" grind like a spyderco delica, but they cut just fine and once ya get used to them sharpening is no biggie.
&
*liner lock issues- the last 3 yrs or so EKI seems to have turned the corner on this issue (if it ever was an issue) and the newer ones dont seem to have any more issues than any other brands LL.
&
*finish - EKI's definition of a satin finish and my definition of a satin finish are 2 different things lol, imho the EKI satin is more like a stonewash kinda finish vs a true satin.

The 10 I had was a normal V grind(I think). That was one of the reasons I wanted one. Opening oval, Wave, general purpose blade shape, and normal grind on blade. I was going to make it my LF pocket carry knife, but I couldn't retire my Chinook. So I sold it. It was sweet because it had been frame lock converted by STR(awesome job by the way).
I carry an 8 in my RF pocket and wanted a "waved" folder for LF carry, but I couldn't set aside my Chinook. Oh well.
Let us know how you like it.

this has been my edc for the past two years and it has never let me down......im actually in the process of ordering a second and passs this one to my roomate ......all in all you cant go wrong very strong and very very comfortable in the hand....

Ok were did you get it because the last time I checked new graham was out and I have been wanting one.

the closest EKI to a conventional V grind is a CQC12, and its not a conventional V grind (conventional V grind being like a plain edge spyderco delica).

if anyone has any EKI, and its a conventional V grind like i defined it, then someone reground/rebeveled it.

I got it on ebay . The knife store has them for 129.00. I like it feels good in the hand. I would like to get a Emerson Horseman some day. I carry most of the time a Benchmade 710. Thanks for all of your input.

I have a CQC-10 and it rotates as an EDC. Solid knife, but I like others better such as the Lone Wolf T2 Harsey, BM 940, BM 550 Grip, and Combat Elite RRF. I do like the 10's spearpoint blade. Very useful with a lot of belly.

i buy my blades from a good buddy of mine he lives in the washington dc area.......his website is www.mattdtactical.com he is a great guy and i highly recommend him he specializes in emersons and many other high end blades also a bunch of cool firearm stuff......
