I Am Really Considering Buying This Folder, Ive Never Owned An Emerson Before, What Do You Guys Think, I Am Looking For A Good Sturdy Edc That Has Good Self-defense Capabilities As Well.

Great choice!!! I own a bunch of Emerson's, and they are all excellent! The wave is the only way to go....

While I carry the 12 as my "outdoors" knive, my "in town" knife is the Combat Karambit (two actually). If you don't really need a "utility" knive (I have a multi-tool for that), and want a pure self defense knife, then take a good look at the Karambit!

I avoided the Karambit for many years, imagining that it was a Ninja Wanabee gimmick...then I got one and discovered just how wrong I had been!!!

i liked the '13 so much i got a custom specwar version which is ~ 5 times the cost of the production so yes i would say they are worth the $$.

'12's are also good, probably the best production, they are disco'd now though.

The CQC-15 and CQC-8 are also big favorites. The CQC-12 is one to look for.

If you want something smaller then look at the new Horseman which is a smaller CQC-8 and the mini CQC-7.

again, if ya want a '12 (or a HD7 for that matter) look/buy now because EKI has disco'd both of them and they are starting to get scarce, it wont be long and ya are gonna have to pay a premium for one, great knives though, a shame they have disco'd them.

the '12 is my fav production EKI by far.

The 13 is a great knife - not too big and not too small. However, it has a very sharp point (well, mine does) and that could pose a problem if you drop it.

The models that are practically indestructible would include the CQC8, 11 and the tantos, although I do NOT like chisel grinds myself.

Which is also why I didn't include the Commander.

The 12 doesn't have quite as sharp a point, but it is way more scarce and more expensive...

I own six emerson's.They are worth the money because they are so differant from other companies, they are all business no frills or gimicks. They carry nice
and have great and unique handle disigns.
