So, I was considering getting an Emerson CQC-15.....does anyone have one, and I'm not very trusting of a liner lock.....how would you say the liner lock on the CQC-15 compares to that of, say, my ZT300s frame lock, or my MOD CQD Mark 1's plunge lock?

Thanks!

well, FWIW EKI LL's are as good (or bad) as any other companies liner locks, and there is nothing wrong with a well made/well fitted LL, that said a EKI LL (or any other brand LL) isnt as good as a frame lock, probably not as good as a plunge lock either, but in most cases a LL will be just fine, i wouldnt worry about it myself FWIW.

Not as strong as a framelock but good enough for everyday use. Im not sure if anybody has tested them for strength in a scientific manner vs a frame lock or plunge but.. its good enough for soft tissue targets or peeling an orange LOL ;-)

The CQC15 is a very intimidating looking piece. The handle is very secure. I gave mine as a gift to my boss since he really fell in love with it. I miss it.

never had an issue with any EKI liner lock, for normal knife tasks. Those who abuse their folder knives by using them as footpegs in trees or by batoning might have different results. For your everyday cutting/slicing needs in the urban or wilderness environments its a great knife.

imho, waving EKI's is hard on them and accelerates wear, i dont think it hurts to wave them some, but if ya get obssesive/compulsive about it and do it a dozen times a day, its probably gonna wear the liner lock more than normal, imho inertia opeing is also hard on liner locks, but with normal use liner locks work fine,

that said a bud has a '99 commander and i bet its been waved/inertia'd thousands of times and its still right were it should be, go figure.

but, for normal use nothing wrong with a well fitted LL imho,
