Which knife should I get. It is between the Emerson CQC 7(wave) or Emerson Specwar. My final choice is the PRO-Tech Tactical response 1 automatic knife. All knives will have a black tanto blade with or without serrations. I don't know which blade type is better. They range in price from $100-$130. Check out the the below listed links. I'm leaning towards the PRO-TECH but my co-worker insists I get the CQC7(wave). Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi, I have owned both. I love the Emerson but don't like the chisel grind on the blade. I cut too many other things and the grind makes it difficult to cut straight. I just bought a protech and had a problem with it but the people at Protech (30 min away from my house) fixed it better than new in less than a day. I guess the big question would be do you intend to carry the knife and if so is it legal to carry autos' in your state. I don't think it is worth the risk if it isn't.:(

kamkazmoto, Yes it is legal to carry autos where I live. I would be using the knife for work and everyday carry. I don't really care how straight the tanto blade cuts. I want a tanto more for toughness rather than any fine cutting. Thanks for your response.

Well, the CQC7 will be faster to deploy.

The wave is very sweet.

Plus, since it's not an auto, you could carry it in other states as well.

The EKI CQC7BW is a great knife.

But, don't listen to us. Get what makes you happy.
