Emerson CQC-7A & Chris Reeves Small Sebenza; others???

I've done a fair amount of looking around & reading about both knives, but wanted to ask some opinions of those who've had (or currently have) these two in their arsenal.

I've owned a number of the Emerson CQC-7's (all tanto blades, though), and am looking for a nicer knife to carry & use, with a std blade, not the tanto (and not serrated).

I know there is a decent difference in price ($120-$200 for a waved Emerson, vs. ~$350-420 for the CRK Sebenza), but I'm not too focused on the $$ aspect.

Also I know that Emerson uses 154CM steel, verses the S30V for the Reeves knife. I only have two other knives with the S30V, and they seem to stay a little sharper than the 154CM. Plus, all the knives I have w/ 154CM have black blades and the two w/ S30V have blasted silver blades, which I think looks nicer.

So, thoughts, suggestions? The good, bad, or ugly? Any other makers I'm leaving out (Russell, perhaps?).

Thanks for your time!

I think the sebenza is perfect for what your looking for if your willing to pay the price...and by the sounds of things, you are.

Yeah ^^^

I own both, but they have practically nothing in common other than (1) both came out of the box sharp-sharp-sharp and (2) both are great knives.

OK

So I'm going to try to stick up for A.G. Russell adn give him a shot.

Does anyone own one of the new Agies Titanium Folders?
A.G. says he has taken the best ideas of the finest folder designers and incorporated them into an Uber-folder...the best of the breed.

Can someone who owns one convince Deep Sea and me that the knife lives up to the hype?

I'm an Emerson man. Opinionated but open minded.

Thanks for the replies so far. I'll take a look at the YouTube video.

Re the Russell, I read the thread on the Agies folder (all 11 or 12 pages), and there are a myriad of opinions and comments. I'll take a look at their site and see what it's all about. Quite possibly I can get the Russell, and if I don't like it, I can at least return it (which probably wouldn't happen, anyway).

Since the Emerson is also a short run (until they do the next batch of the A versions), I might pick one of them up also.

The Sebenza appears to be quite easy to get, so no worries about it drying up.

Either way, thanks for the replies so far...I'm completely open and not predisposed to any particular maker or brand, so any other suggestions of sub $500 folders are welcome.

Thanks!
