I wanted to give a short review of my new Emerson CQC-7V from the new "Prestige" line. I want to first say that this might be the best EDC Emerson I have ever handled. The Prestige line is a limited production of custom Emerson knives offered to select Prestige Emerson dealers. The first release is the CQC-7 V. It has a double V grind with a stunning stone wash finish. Lock up is rock solid with no play in any direction. The knife feels like a tank and a lot of extra quality fit and finish went into its limited production. I believe only 500 are to be made, maybe less. My number is 265. This knife is gorgeous. My pics dont show the two tones of the blade that well but its stunning. The coyote brown G-10 is a special high textured G-10 that is much rougher and thicker than the typical Emerson G-10. It is the roughest G-10 I have ever handled. It just grips the hand with little effort and I love the feel. The fit and finish is perfect and it should be for a "Prestige Emerson". Weight is about 4oz and the blade edge is THE sharpest I have ever seen out of the box. Hair popping razor scary sharp.
The lock up is early perfect for a new knife and it doesnt stick. Blade centering is also perfect. Hands down this is THE best Emerson I have ever handled. I love the entire package. Pics were taken in bright sun light. The Coyote tan handle is a bit darker than it shows in my pics. It is one awesome knife. This is the holy grail of Emerson's IMO.

Man i love that tan g-10. I wish they offered all lines in v-grind. That is a very awesome knife and a new twist on a classic.

Last I checked the CQC8, A100,etc are V grind, the only thing is that is chisel sharpened. Nothing a few swipes on the Edgepro cannot fix.

I think everything they offer is V ground except the original 7, Combat Karambit, and LaGriffe.

That is a fine looking knife. Tan handles and finishes are really starting to grow on me too.

This is from the Emerson site:

The CQC-7V is a double V-ground version of the infamous Emerson CQC-7B knife known the world over. This beauty features striking, coarse, tan G-10 handles holding a dramatic stone-washed CQC-7 blade that is precisely ground on both sides, front and back, giving you a razor sharp cutting machine. If you've ever thought about getting a CQC-7 but hesitated because of the chisel grind, then your wait is over.

Oh yeah i meant to state i wish they offered all models in the double v grind. It would be awesome if someone could post a tutorial video on regrinding Emersons on an edge pro apex. Anywho that CQC7V looks like a perfect edc.

So far I am falling in love with this knife. The proportions of the blade length and handle size are perfectly balanced. The blade thickness feels like you could pry open a vault door. This kind of solidness almost seems impossible for a knife weighing only 4oz.
