I love emersons and have a question about the cqc series, are there cqc-1,2,3,4s? ( i imagine there are but have never seen them, they certainly arn't on the website and through all of my searching i cant find these). I have seen the 9, and either a 5 or 6, but id love to see these other models. any info, esp pictures would be great. thanks

they make a CQC5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, the 5,6, and 9 are custom only, 7,8,10, 11, 12 & 13 can be either production or custom. as far as i know no 1,2,3 or 4, though he might have made 1 or 2 smaller '5s and called them a 4, etc. i know he has said he will never make a production '6, which is probably his most popular knife, ya see them sell for $1200 and up after ernie sells them for $500. i have seen some go for $2K.
then ya have the custom and production persian tacticals (P-TACs) and the custom only viper series, though the I&I tanto production has a handle very similar to the viper. i recently saw a custom bolstered P-TAC and it was pretty darned cool.
and the commanders, they too can be custom or production.

some are only available as customs (ie CQC5,6,9,etc).
the F&F is better on the customs of course.
i have a custom '8 and a production '8 and they are pretty similar, the custom blade is a little bit longer and wider, the handle screws are different, the backspacer is different, the custom is a zero bevel grind which is not available on any productions, the customs hold there value a LOT better than productions lol, really not a whole lotta diffs, but there are some. is it 3X as good as the cost would indicate?? probably not. i do like the customs though.
