Here are a few images of my CQC12. I thought the titanium back would be stonewashed, but mine has a bead blasted finish. The blade is marked with a serial number of 028 so maybe it was made before the stonewashed finish was produced. The edge is shaving sharp right out of the box. Nice lockup and smooth blade function with no need to adjust the pivot screw. The thin profile makes it feel, even as big as it is, like it is not even in my back pocket. I removed the pocket clip as I prefer the knife to lie in the bottom of my pocket. I am used to round side mounted thumb studs and the knurled stud on the top of the blade feels different, but gives a good surface to push with.

thats an '04, an early one, the 1st run of the '12 had BB ti vs stonewash FWIW, imho the BB looks better but is more prone to scuffs, the '12 is imho by far the best EKI production knife.

i wish they would finish the ti different than the SW, flame it or something, i dont really care for that "look", also i wish they would add the hinderer stabiliser to it like striders.

does anyone else think the SW ti looks like someone removed the G10 on that side and forgot to put it back on lol?

but hey, thats the only con to the '12 imho, i can live with the SW.

My Strider PT had the stonewashed finish on the titanium and I liked it. I was hoping the CQC12 would come with the SW finish like it was pictured on the web site where I ordered the knife, but I ended up with bead blasted. I guess I can always reblast the back if it gets too scratched...

I just picked one up used and mine looks like it is stone washed but can't really tell. Kind of slick feeling. Had an HD7 too but prefer the pe vs. the pse. I am converting pretty much all of my collection to frame locks, at least eventually. Seems like a nice enough knife(12) alright. I'll use it and see what happens after a couple of weeks of edc'ing and how it goes. keepem sharp

mines an '06 and its SW.

if anyone just has to have the SW i'd swap 'em a BB for a SW??

iv got 2 12s both were SW but i BB one of them and kept the other as standard. the bead blast does look much better IMO.

Beautiful. I hope to add an CQC-12 to my collection as my first Emerson. The only qualm I have is that I wish it had G10 on both sides. I'd have a partial scale that left the frame lock portion exposed if I had my way.

i wouldnt like that the '12 carries well due to being thin another G10 slab would ruin that imho.

Nice one....

Wish they'd do a frame-lock version of the 13. Just prefer that shape for some reason.

Just traded my newly acquired 12 away. For some reason, and this is just me mind you it just didin't float my boat. I also agree that the 13 in the bowie style just does it for me more so than the 12. I am thinking I like the grip ergo's of a full set of slab g10 better than titanium frame and g10. keepem sharp

Keep in mind the Ti Slab slides in and out of the pocket smoother with less wear and tear on the pocket.

Just got my '08 catalog last night. Sadly, the CQC-12 is no longer in there? Has it been discontinued? If so, is it because of the price of titanium?:(
