greetings from Miami! There seems more of this type of thing happening with retailers. Some have the Carracci dagger and Police models advertised (often with no pic). If you actually call them they generally say that you can pre order but that they dont know when they will have them. This seems like the same sort of thing which would explain the AWESOME price!

That's what I thought when I first saw it, but I don't think it is. Comments like:

The CQC-7 is by the most sought-after tactical folder of all time, and is the razor-sharp, chisel-ground knife has become the standard by which all hard-use folding knives are judged. Now it is available directly from the ORIGINATOR, Emerson Knives.

and:

Blade: 154 CM premium blade steel

and:

Clip can now be mounted on either end-pre-drilled, according to your preference.

and:

Assembly screws are drilled and tapped into titanium, not G-10-no stripped screws.

and:

Emerson Knives is very proud to announce the rebirth of the most popular tactical folder of all time

This sounds like a refinement of the old BM large CQC7. Now if they would just add a "wave". Hmmmmm

John

Guys,
Did no one read the blade length?
3.3", hardly a "long Emerson". My guess is they left out the word "Awaited" on an old ad for the current version.
Take Care,
Al

Dowwwwww!

There goes Al throwing logic inta' the mix.

I'm still not 100% convinced. It appears a separate page was set up, using "cut & paste" and titled "Emerson CQC7, Long Version".

If you follow this Link, it will take you to the Chai Cutlery Emerson page. Listed are CQC7As in Black-T and I believe a Bead Blasted finish (it didn't say) and the CQC7Bs in the same configurations. Then there is the separate listing for the "Emerson CQC7, Long Version".

Derek or James will have to clear this one up I think.

John

Greetings from Key West! I know that Emerson has considered a longer bladed production tanto folder. Who knows, maybe this ad is in fact a reference to an actual Emerson Knives project. It is strange that the item description used in the ad is that of the normal CQC-7 item description as seen at the Official Emerson site.

I zapped that item temporarily until I can reload updated Emerson info from current data at the "Zapship" site.

Thanks for the heads-up!

OK . . . What does that mean?

Ark

You down in my neck of the woods? How's the sunset at Mallory Square? You have to get your picture next to the "Southern Most Point" marker.

Well, trying to tell the software that the "long" CQC7 and the dagger are "offline" didn't work, so they're up there on my page with "safe" price tags and confessions of ignorance and unknown availability.

Ahhh technology. All I can say is that I hope that Emerson does in fact provide us all with a production dagger and "long" CQC-7. They would be welcome additions to my hoard of knives.

Hey John,
Yeah, Key West is still there. I skipped the Southern Most Point Marker though. growing up down there I got a good dose of Southernmost everything!
