A member here, Penny pincher, suggested I check just to be sure. Got this for 70 bucks. Quality was actually better than I expected, given EKI is known for function over fit and finish. Has standoffs, The detent on the non-locking liner was there, the liners are non-magnetic as they should be...overall a very solid feel, yet not too heavy in my pocket. I have yet to check the logos in detail but it seemed fine at first glance compared to all that was online. Of all the emerson models the only prolific or common clone/fake i've seen are of the Emerson commander. Is that correct?

It looks like the real deal to me. The markings appear to be correct. Nothing jumps out as indicating it to be a fake. Why exactly do you think the knife might be fake?

Peace of mind. It was a suggestion by another member on a thread, that since I got it off the Bay for $70 it is better to be sure! I already knew that CQC7 clones aren't that common, as like, the commander clones, and about the double detent, and that titanium is non magnetic. Thanks!

I have some 2013 Emersons with backspacers and others with standoffs. The knife having one or the other isn't necessarily an indication of a counterfeit.

I know. Im listing things that are common on recent model emersons, like standoffs, Liners shouldn't be magnetic, etc. I know the knife is legit according to my research I just want to pass it by you all since you guys likely know more than I do, as I have only recently gotten into knives.

Shouldn't the non locking liner attract a magnet, being 300 series stainless steel?

Looks legit to me, and it doesn't need a re-blade either. I've gotten a 7 for that price on the exchange/cove before, use it in good health!

i'll try the magnet on non locking side when I disassemble the knife. But non magnetic just by waving magnets near the outside. I've been reading stuff about them using nonmagnetic stainless, even on this forum too.

Yes, they do use non magnetic stainless steel for the nonlocking liner.

Akapp, the only CQC-7 I've owned was a 2014 Super CQC-7 and it had standoffs. My 2013's are a mixture: 15, Super Roadhouse, Jungle Commander, and Journeyman

This would be 300 series stainless steel, been in use since 2006 or so I think. It will not react at all to a magnet.
