When i first opened this knife i noticed that it was extremely gritty.i decided to take the knife apart and clean it. Once I was finished taking apart the knife and putting it back together it still had the gritty feeling, So I loosened the pivot screw to see if that would help, but when I loosened it enough so that the gritty feeling was gone it had a ton of blade play. when I tighten it up it has the annoying gritty feeling. So you have to chose between being able to flick the knife open and have alot of blade play or have no blade play but a gritty feeling.
I know emerson knives are not meant to be show pieces but the fit and finish on it is terrible. The g10 is not anywhere close to being flush with the liners so I have decided to ditch the old scales and make my own.
When the wave feature is used the lock is almost touching the opposite side of the liner which makes it almost impossible to disengage the lock. I have had to pry the lock with a coin to be able to close the knife.
After all said and done I still love my emerson but it just needs some tweaking to be a better knife.
