How do these knives stack up against each other? I am interested in owning one of these knives.

Thanks!:)

I own a CQC 7A and a 520. They are both nice knives. I prefer 520 because of the axis lock and M4 blade steel.

I have a 520 in 154cm steel, but not the cqc7a I own a couple other emersons though. From what I know, they will be very similar in blade style and steel. The 520 is a little bit more ergonomic in my opinion than my other emersons. I think it will come down to you lock preferences and how they feel in your hand. I prefer the axis lock, but that's just me.

I would also verify the grind on the cutting edge. Emerson claims it is a double V. On my emersons with a V primary grind the cutting edge is a chisel grind.

Which every you choose, you will be getting a great hard use knife

I'll usually choose an Emerson over a Benchmade. Generally the Emersons are tougher.

The CQC-7 is such a proven knife. Sales figures would show it through the roof vs. a Presidio.

I've handled both. The CQC-7 wins by far.

If you're one of these who is totally lock-struck then buy the Presidio. There are many other factors that make a good knife though...like, say blade strength?. :)

Good luck with it.

I am pretty sure all Emerson knives have a chisel edge. My CQC 7A has v grind with chisel edge.

Another big difference I forgot to mention is the aluminum scales on the 520. Seems like people either love or hate them. The serrations are pretty aggressive and can shred your pockets but the g10 on the CQC 7 might too.

forgive my lack of terminology, what does being "lock-struck" mean? based on how the knives look the emerson looks "special" compared to the benchmade at that price point, i think the stonewash and tan handle are very appealing.
