Hi,

I'm looking into getting a Emerson Custom. I've found a dealer with three instock.

All of them are new prices are:

Roadhouse -$1350

CQC 11 - $1299

CQC 8 - $1200

Are these fair prices? Seems too high to me...

They are 2016 produced knives with 154CM steel and ti, micarta handles.

Seems about what the market is for those models, if not a tad high on the Eleven. I'd definitely put more in an Eight if both were in equal condition.

Emerson customs are pricey. Cant get into dollar amounts. They are hand made and ive heard the man himself say they can go for a lot.

I decided to get the CQC8, when I called the dealer back it was already sold.

Snooze ya lose! Or in this case Snooze ya save your money!

Prices seem reasonable. General rule of thumb I go by is that the table prices from Emerson (caveat you will need to win a lottery to get one) are in the 700 to 1000 dollar range depending on size. IIRC the standard is around $800, and price can get close to double as soon as it leaves the Emerson table. So long story short those price seem reasonable if you like the designs.

Obviously supply and demand comes into play a well, and price will fluctuate especially around the time of a show/lottery when a bunch of new knives are suddenly in the market.
