I just sent a CQC-7 back to Emerson to have it sharpened up. I had it sharpened by some fool locally who basically trashed the blade. I am a LEO and carry this cqc-7 or my commander every day, so I really didn't want to send it off and not have it 10-8 with me.
Well I sent the knfie in to get it sharpened and I recieved the knife back today. I open the box and see a hand written note inside. So I am thinking that it is going to say something like,"hey smart guy you screwed up this knife so bad we don't want to touch it!" However, the note states that Mr.Emerson saw the condition of my blade(which was bad due to me letting a jack a$$ try to sharpened the chisle ground blade) and that he made the decision to just give me a new blade for free.
Now I have had alot of knives before my Emersons, but when I sent them in for work it always took a looooong time and I never got anything for using bad judgement regarding use or sharpening. The note advised that they were sorry that they could not give me a satin finish blade like the one I had, but they had given me the black coated blade instead. I just can't get over what great customer service Emerson has. I have heard some bad stories from other officers regarding other knife companies, and I had just wanted the knife to be sharp again when I sent it in.
I must say that as far as I am concerned Emerson is the best knife company as far as service goes. I would not hesitate to bet my life on one of my Emerson knives or the customer service either!!
Thanks again Mr.Emerson.
ps~I will never let anyone sharpen my knives but Emerson.
