Just curious to the whole thing, as I don't own one yet. I will be attending a show coming up here in less than a week. Can you just buy them or is the only way I will ever get one is through the raffle system? If you win are you able to pick your blade out and how much do they usually go for?

From what I understand, they don't even run the raffle anymore, and Ernie really hasn't made a custom in years. Correct Me if i'm wrong here.

Although im not sure exactly how to purchase an emerson custom, I know that ernie is still making them. If you check out the Emerson youtube channel they have a video from last year around christmas time where ernie picks raffle numbers for his customs.

It's a raffle system and you get one entry. If your name is called, you can pick one knife from whatever is left.

His customs now start at $650

See you at the show

If you think a zero grind cuts better than a grind with a secondary bevel, then they it better. Ernie is still making customs, and like 556 said, the raffle is the way to go. Secondary market prices run almost double the table price.

Check your 'sources' again. Ernie is still making hundreds of customs a year, and the ones not filling standing orders are sold at shows using the raffle system. He may also run another on-line auction for special knives too. Current price is $650 for a regular folder.

That's good to hear, I would really like one of his customs or at least to handle one. Ill be at the Plaza show on Sat. and possibly Sun. Let me know if you want to meet up, would be cool to meet a fellow member.

I know they are not taking orders through the regular emerson company because I tried. If he is still taking orders how do you place them????

Book is long closed... He is delivering knives now that were ordered 15 years ago...

So does he make some of the dress versions still? I guess he can make whatever he wants and people will buy them!!

He had a dress version A-100 at the Custom show this weekend. He sold it for $2000

Regular customs were $650 again, if your name was called.

I struck out this year.:(

I was there at the plaza cutlery show this weekend, but I did not stay for the raffle. I had the money but could not afford one so I took off. Really wanted one though...someday.
