Has anybody dealt with Emerson before? If so, how was the customer service? I sent my Snubby to them to drill and tap for a left handed clip. They originally told me a week.....two weeks later it's still not back. First phone call......gal is sick (guess nobody else to do the work). Second phone call a week later.....she should get to it in the next day or two (that makes me feel a whole lot better, glad I called....not). After two phone calls, I still don't know when I'm going to see my Snubby. This is my first time dealing with them, so not sure what to expect.....so far, not impressed, but will refrain from a final verdict.

You might want to ask in the Emerson sub forum. Those are the people with more experience. They are a small company compared to many other and have a lot on their plate. Do not worry. You will get it back in great form! I had to wait 10 weeks one time for a folder to return and that was from a much larger knife company.

No complaints, but be sure to send the handling and shipping charge using a money order rather than a check...they will not ship your knife back untill the check clears the bank.

I have had nothing but good experiences with EKI customer service, matter of fact they WOW'ed me.

well, I was recently quoted a 4-6 week turn around for a non-special request, so in your case I could see 10-12 weeks and that is not unusual for small companies like emerson. many of their employes are specialists in their position, which at time can slow things down quite a bit.

their customer service is very good.

but keep in mind they are a very small company. best i can tell, mary emerson is their customer service department. just her. or maybe one other lady whose name i cant remember who also works in the office.

As every one else has said EKI is a pretty small set up so may take a bit of time to get round to any "extras" needing done.

That said tapping the knife for left hand carry could have been done by you or any machine shop in about 20 mins. The only pluss in using EKI is that
your warranty stays intact. Emerson would probably still see you right if you had problems with a knife you worked on your self any way though.

That's not true.

I have sent knives back with a check, gotten the knife back in a week or two and the check not put through for a few months in one case.

I think it's just a formality.

Thanks for the feed back......sounds as though I have nothing to complain/worry about. As for doing it myself, with the time they quoted me, I thought it would be just as quick with them and keep my warranty in tact.
I did forward a money order for the work.....they told me that if I sent a check, they would hold for a week or so until it cleared (appears to be their policy).
Thanks again.....I will hold tight.
Cheers,
JT
