Amici,
I have a quick "q" regarding EKI and some of the sticking points they have posted that voids their warranty.
Let's say you've had your knife professionally resharpened, NOT a regrind but resharpened by a professional, in this case, we'll say a "V" grind. Then after it becomes dull from heavy use once more, you wish to send your blade to EKI for lets say for resharpening or even a spa treatment since your original sharpening source is no longer available.
Would EKI just send the knife back with a note stating, "nope, this has been resharpened/re-profiled by a non-EKI source, no longer serviceable under warranty".. much to the surprise of the owner?
If so, I would scratch my head, since I thought one of the talking points regarding EKI blades was the ability to resharpen it anywhere, even on a rock or a pipe if necessary.
Also, what about you were deployed overseas and had a fellow trooper who was the battalions knife aficionado or even an Abdul or someone just knowledgeable in Crapistan that resharpened the blade for the GI in question, and now having returned home, wants it done right..
Am I onto something or totally off base. Enquiring minds would like to know..
Cheers,
Serge
