Emerson HARD WEAR Knives

I see there is a new line coming from Emerson, termed HARD WEAR Knives, according to their website. Anyone have any information on these?

I think they are made in Japan, and are a little less expensive than the regular line of knives made in the U.S. I remember reading something about them on the Emerson Knives section of the Blade forums, just do a search there and I think you will get all the answeres you need.
