Does anyone have any experience with Emerson's Hard Wear series of knives particularly the Reliant folder or any in that line? I know they are made in Japan. Any pics?

try the Emerson sub-forum in the manufacturers section, I'm sure those guys will be able to help you

Hi! i own a couple of Emersons (Cqc 8,13 Mach1 etc) and love those knives!
Lightweight and easy to sharpen. Just for your info, so i dont get blamed for bashing EKI. The Hardwear Series is (unfortunatly) a different class.
Bought an Endeavor on the bay for a really low price, thought i'd give it a try. Knife came super-sharp but with a lot of bladeplay (which cant be adjusted, cause the plastic-handles are bolted together - Old skool :jerkit:) I've had a lot of knives with aus-8, but the hard-wear knife didnt hold an edge at all, and is a pain in the a$$ for resharpening (don't ask my why, cant get it nearly as sharp as it came form seki with my sharpmaker or lansky) Pocket-clip comes with chrome-coating & looks very cheap. Handle Ergos are great(like all the Stuff Mr. Emerson makes) and very grippy thats about the only positive thing i can say about it. Get a Kershaw or Spyderco Endura for the same money, much better value.

I have a Hard Wear Traveler or two kicking around. They're very nice knives -- well made, ergonomic, and not terribly expensive.

I bought one a few years ago - made in Japan, nice ergos, but I found the zytel grip to be thin / girth. Seemed overly slim. And it had a very un-tactical shiny polished pocket clip.

Now if Emerson doubled the handle thicnkness, put some 3D contours in and put a black pocket clip - it would be a winner. It would give a Spyderco Endura4 a run for it's money.
