which one would you rather carry EDC? i will end up owning both but if you had to choose one first.... both have good blades great ergos etc...

honestly if youre going to go zt350, i say just go zt30x. such a beast of a knife. BEAST. but having never handled either of the knives u suggest i say zt350 cus of how awesome the 30x was.

the zt 030x is just too heavy and too bulky for edc IMO thats why im limiting it to the 0350

i understand that. i wanted one so bad, but ended up selling it for that exact reason. i had the tan one.. i forget the exact model number, i think it was 302, but it was my favorite knife ive ever held. even better than my small sebby. the 551 i have now is also awesome so i assume the 350 would be up to the same standards. ive never had an emerson, but as far as im concerned zt is top notch

The ZT 350. The liner will last longer, and S30V HT by Kershaw will outperform 154CM HT by Emerson, which in my experience is a little chippy. Sharpening will be a little slower and it will not take as fine an edge.

thanks for the input .. no worries about sharpening i have a DMT aligner with 5 diamond stones... sharpens s30v like its butter :)

the recurve on the 0350 isnt that extreme and ive already learned not to completely rely on the guide rods... its more of a starting point sharpening still requires a certain amount of "feel" even with guides

The quality of ZT knives is consistent and light years better then Emerson
The 0350 is an outstanding knife , and for extra few bucks more , the 0200 is even better

If the 030X is too big/bulky/heavy, the 0200 won't be much of an improvement in that regard;).

i have owned the 350 and currently have the horseman. both are great. i like the the horseman because it was sized to fit nicely in a pocket while riding horses. i just apply it to motorcycles instead of horses. nice size blade not blugeing out of you pocket or pressing into your leg. just my 2 cents

The Emerson Horseman is my favorite Emerson knife and I've owned a few different models over the years. The ZT 350 is also an excellent knife so it will come down to the characteristics you prefer.

I prefer the satin / SW finished blade of the uncoated Horseman, It's beautifully done... The Horseman is very pocket friendly and the wave feature works very well.
If I had to sell one over the other , I'd keep the Horseman.

I've been edc'ing the 350KW (got the KW version because I dont care much for black blades) for a couple of years and it works well for an EDC.
Carried the 200KW for awhile, and while it is a great knife, its just too dang heavy for edc IMHO.

Never owned an Emerson (except for my Protech/Emerson), I have handled them but the linerlock seemed thinnish to me, particularly compared to the ZT 350.

the KW version is the one i have coming in the mail... the emerson lock is thinnish but i believe its titanium..(too lazy to google atm)

I think you'll be happy with it. If not, feel free to blame me. :D
I do wish they would put some slightly nicer scales on it, but they get the job done.

You're correct.
I'm lazy too and my back hurts, but I I got curious.
I'm sure Emersons work just fine. Sure have a loyal following.

A few years ago Emerson switched to a much thicker liner on the lock bar side.

Personally, I prefer Emerson over ZT.

im sure i will eventually own both ;) then my hardest decision will be which one to carry

Keep a quarter between the two and assign one to heads and the other to tails:thumbup:. But couldn't you just carry one in the left pocket and the other in the right?
