Hi...I am new here, but not new to knives.

Was wanting to get people's opinion on the Emerson Karambit folder. Any remarks are greatly appreciated.

I bought a bullnose emerson karambit folder, and was extremely displeased with its liner lock. when i pulled the knife from the pocket engaging the wave mechanism, it snapped the blade into place so much that i could not disengage the liner, without a much more than pleasureable amount of pressure. I have read in other cases, just the opisite. The liner doesnt reliablly lock the blade in place.

I completly agree, I sent back my ECF , cause of the liner lock issue. I would love to know why anyowe would still design a folder with a liner lock, in light of all the modern lock developments. Check out y other posts on the subjecy

My 2 cents worth

Barry

Well, compared to lockbacks, for a given handle size, you can, if I'm correct, carry more blade in there. Also, flippers don't work with lockbacks.

Tackhammer,
If you are really interested in a karambit i would suggest the spyderco, it is easy to mod a wave on to it, i will be posting pictures of mine soon, another plus is that it is a frame lock.

It's a "wave" not a flipper, and the "wave" works fine with lockbacks.
