Emerson/Kershaw question

So I just saw the BHQ Emerson/Kershaw CQC-9 overview video on YouTube. I really like the overall design of this knife but I seem to have hit a bit of a roadblock and it raised a question for me. I love how the wave opener hides in the handle scales when the blade is open, BUT from what Emerson model does this derive from? I googled Emerson CQC-9 only to see that that particular model is vastly different. The result shows the "Eagle" model from Emerson with its distinctive "S" curve blade and opening hole. So, my fellow forumites and possible Emerson aficionados, can anyone point me in the right direction for the actual Emerson model the E/K CQC-9 comes from? Thanks in advance.

None of the Kershaw Emerson's come from actual Emerson production models iirc. They are all designs he had laying around that he never got the chance to produce.

Ah gotcha. That does make sense. I guess my feeling is I'd like to have this knife but just made by the Emerson company. Titanium liners and 154CM just tickles my fancy more than steel frame lock and 8CR13MOV. I also really like that hidden wave feature in the open position. Thanks, Scurvy.

Not true.

CQC 9K is derived from the Commander blade shape and SOCFK handle

CQC 4K is derived from the Gentleman Jim

CQC 5K comes from the Panzer

CQC 3K comes from the Bulldog

CQC 6K is reminiscent of the Mach-1 or NOVA

CQC 8K is similar to the HMMV-K

CQC 2K is close to either the Patriot or EOTAC

The hidden wave opener stems from the Super Raven.

I see a lot of similar and close to. Pretty sure when they announced it, they said they went through his book of designs he never made and picked what they wanted.

Several Emerson's made looks very similar to other Emerson's already made as well so it doesn't surprise me that they look like Emerson's
