on flee bay there is someone selling these :

Emerson Knives Christmas Karambit Knife AFGHAN TAN
Emerson Knives Christmas Roadhouse Knife Brown
Emerson Gentleman Jim Black Friday Afghan Tan Knife

the seller claims that there only are 5 made of each so my question is, is this true ??

if so these are customs correct, with custom blade or only the tan slabs that are custom...?

The Christmas knives are simply production knives with different G10 scales. I don't know about the total made, but 5 of each sounds reasonable. I can't see the fascination with the Christmas knives other than the different color G10 scales available. If you want a different scale on a production Emerson, there are a lot of "pimpers" who can make whatever kind of scale you want.

Emerson custom knives are very different. They usually have the titanium bolster and green micarta scale. They also have either the Emerson Specwar logo or the halfmoon logo on the blade. They are valuable because they are made by Ernest himself.

This is not true if all customs though. There are plenty that are not bolstered out there and black or other colors as well.

- True, but that would have been too long of a post to list all the variations. The titanium bolster/green micarta is the most common.

This is a picture of mine of a full out custom EKI

I remember 5 total for Christmas editions sound right.

I do not know if these were actually considered "semi-custom" though.

I have a few semi-custom EKI's from the factory.

BTW, I have purchased every EKI aside from the Palm wood custom direct from EKI and the Christmas Commanders that I bought a few of where not all that expensive.

Thanks man :)

It is probably my most unique EKI non custom. The digicam is really cool in person with a slight translucent quality.

I purchased one for my dad that Christmas too. Even that old man took a liking to it :)

It's definitely different, the 2 tone really sets it off, as well as the skull. I've contemplated joining the ECA before, but some folks said it wasn't much different than just buying whatever you like when it's available.

Yeah, I joined back when I bought the 19 Eleven knife. I never noticed any difference aside from being able to purchase that knife.
