Emerson knives made by Kershaw?

They came out around mid-last year (atleast thats when i received my 1K that was on pre-order). IIRC they were announced at 2014 SHOT show.

Mossyhorn, with all due respect, my Super Commander certainly disagrees!

Put one of those or a Super CQC8 next to a ZT collab and the ZT collabs, while certainly nice, will skittle away in fear so fast they'll rattle their pivot bolts loose! :emot-yarr:

I'm very glad that Emerson has done collaborations with KAI with both Kershaw and ZT. To me that shows both a willingness to provide what the market wants through collaborations with other companies, and to stay true to his original specs & designs when his own company is concerned.

At times I feel like what may be keeping many from owning & using an Emerson design is the price point, and the fact that they don't have the "latest and greatest blade steel & locking mechanisms".

The Kershaw & ZT collaborations allow people who have had those reservations about purchasing EKI knives to have their cake and eat it too.

You guys have a point, both companies make good knives.

I guess I've just been really lucky. I've owned nine Emersons dating back to 2012 and every one has been fine. The steel might not be a "super steel" but I guess I don't cut enough items in a given day or week to really notice a difference between the 154 CM used in my Emersons and the S35V used in my CRKs.

I guess ignorance is bliss in my case, hell I just like them all!

I luv me my Emerson Knives. The #1 risk to a folder is loss. In that regard, the Kershaw-Emersons mitigate that risk.
When the risk of loss is elevated, I do carry a Kershaw-Emerson; otherwise an 8 or my beloved Commander or a Mini-8, or an 11, or a 7 or an [...] grace my RF pocket.

As a total aside, my road-worn Commander just came back from Spa Service and the honeymoon period is on again! Thank you Mary!!!:D

I have not tried a Kershaw Emerson but the two ZT ones I have are top notch: 0620CF and 0630.

I have touched, fondled, and handled all the Kershaw licensed knives that are for better choice of words licensed by Emerson, but IMO non clone an Emerson Models.

There is no say CQC-7 Kershaw that at 3 yards with normal vision a person would say that is just like my Emerson made in Harbor City, CA made CQC-7.

So the bottom line is if you want a $30.00 Emerson licensed Kershaw, be for warned it is NOT A CLONE of a Emerson made in the U.S.A.

But they the Kershaw Emerson Colobrations, are nice for their price point. Maybe Wally World will pick up the line so you can get on for $27.97 as Wally World does sell some Kershaw knives from time to time.

FYI
