This question may have been posted befoe. Does anyone know what steel Emerson uses on their knives?

I'll anticipate your next question...

Crucible's 154CM is very nearly identical to Hitachi's ATS-34.

Some custom makers feel like the recent production (last 2 years?) of 154CM have exceeded the cleanliness of ATS-34, making a very slightly noticeably better blade.
