Utility,everyday use or EDC,cutting cardboard tape,shrinkwrap,stripping wire ,this list could go on for a while but you get the picture.

I have a 2000 commander i use for everyday cutting of cardboard and rope i like the wave feature and the way it sits in my hand very solid you can take it apart with a phillips and straight screwdriver or multitool i think we are almost one with eachother but i will have to ask it

I carry my Commander daily, have since I got it.
It is my always carry knife, even if its not my primary carry, I do have it on me. And I can only think of once I carried anything other than it in my right front pocket since I got it.
I got it, well I got it because it was the first tactical knife I ever really fell in love with, but mainly my intention for getting it was as a defensive knife, but I like it so much that its my do everything knife. From cutting rope, to god forbid, self defense.
I love it, it fits my hand well, its a wonderful knife, works hard, doesnt quit, is smooth as can be, and its so darn cool to use the wave feature in the middle of a crowd of people and watch their reactions.

Gotta sing the praises of the Commander and CQC7b!
The Commander #745 has been my near-daily carry since 1998. Occassionally I'll alternate the CQC7 tanto for variety. But if I had to pick only one folder to carry it would be the Commander for many of the reasons listed above.

commander or spear/tanto socfk are my daily carries.
these knives see absolutly no utility use what-so-ever. they are self defense tools, not work knives to me.
i have spyderco knives for work, or a little cutco for my job.
emersons are weapons. if i need to famialarise myself with drawing them, i practice specificaly. should i ever need a weapon i will need a razor sharp knife at the very least(i'd rather need a razor sharp JHP black tallon).
I have no doubt that emersons are great utility knives, but not for my use. they and my civilian are weapons pure and simple.
if you dont open mail with the front sight of your custom 1911, why use another weapon like that?

My Tanto SOCFK it's my constant companion I use it for anything that needs cutting except maybe a thick juicy steak, but i'm sure it would handle that task quite well also

The Commander is a 98 I have carried since the Commander was introduced. It's my primary defensive knife and is carried ion my primary side rear pocket.
The Sark is a recent addition and handles the majority of the utility task (that don't require a point) and it is carried in my support side rear pocket.
The La Griffe is a last ditch sort of thing and is worn on a ball chain around my neck.

Commander and LaGriffe are my primary daily carry tools. Everything else I carry is just for fun.
