I was wondering which folder you guys think I should get. I'm deciding between the Emerson Mini-Commander or the Benchmade Griptillian W/Axis Lock. What are the pros and cons of each knife? Thanks. And if there are other folding knives you think are better, please share your opinion.

Funny you should ask. I have mini com on the way to me and was recently deciding between it and griptilian.
I decided on the mini com for two reasons. I really liked the ergonomics of the handle on the mini com better. that was the main reason. Im a big fan of handles with finger notches.
The blade profile (Im a sucka for recurves) and over all beefiness of the blade over the griptilian was the second.
A third and less important reason is that Im use to liner locks and not too used to those axis locks. Im sure they are great but Im used to the feel of liner lock so why reinvent the wheel?
And of couse, the wave feature.

Well if money is no object go for the Emerson. I have a spec war that has served me well for years and griptilians are a dime a dozen. I don't think there is any comparison in manufacture and strength. Simple decision for me. I love benchmade knives but the Emerson is 3 times the knife IMHO

Emerson, I'm not too big on Axis Locks not on an 806, because the way I often hold a knife puts my thumb and index finger right over the lock release, so I prefer liner/framelocks and of couse lockbacks with a a boye dent:cool: Most of you guys like the axis but I've accidently disengaged a few bc of how I usually hold knives, luckily no problems. And I don't really think price no object its much of a comparison btn these two, to compete with an Emerson you'd need a high-end Spyderco, Benchmade, or AL Mar SERE 2K.

Have both, really like the looks of the Emerson and really like how the Grip cuts. The Grip is nothing special to look at and the Emerson only shaves magnesium because I have enough knives that are a pleasure to cut with. Obviously some folks have different ideas, to each their own.

It really depends on what you want to use the knife for. I own both. The one I carry and use is the Griptilian (or one of my various Grips). For my own purposes, the Griptilian is a better cutting tool. That doesn't mean someone else wouldn't find the Mini-Com better for their own needs.
