This is a mod that came to mind a few days ago and hasn't left my mind. So I figured what better way to get it out of my head than to do it? 
At this point, I have pretty much finished the regrind and the knife is insanely sharp at this point (sharper than factory). There are a few scuffs and scratches on the grind, but I can take them out with some more time spent on the 5,000 grit waterstone. I am very happy with this regrind. It took a long time, but it was well worth it to me. Made a great knife even better. As an unintended side effect, the knife is now a bit smoother as well and can be flicked open with ease. That was nearly impossible to do before the regrind.
