I have mini commander could I grind an edge on the non sharpened side with the standard stone lansky set? And is it worth it? Thanks Viktor

Your lansky set should be able to sharpen it ok. Might be tricky on the recurve area if the stones are flat but they can get the job done with some patience.

For the chip, you just have to keep sharpening till it is gone.

You can grind the un sharpened side to give it a conventional v edge if you want to. Others have done it. Other that being a slightly better slicer I can see no other benefit to do so.

Reprofiling with a Lansky will probably take you an eternity, especially if you want a symmetrical edge. I would practice and get good at sharpening the chisel grind so you are able to maintain it yourself. If you really want a conventional edge, I would send it to a pro that can do it quicker and better with their equipment.

Also, which Lansky system do you have?
How about a pic of the chip you are referring to.

Not sure about the mini commander, but on my super commander the blade spine is exposed when the knife is folded. So if you sharpen the spine you run a pretty good risk of cutting yourself even while its folded - but yes, the lansky would sharpen it with time and patience.

As for sharpening the actual edge, lansky also makes a set of rounded stones for recurve knives like this. Imo,they work much better than trying to use the flat stones, and if you have or are getting more recurve blades i recommend picking them up.

No pictures right now but the chip is on the non sharpened side. I am use to sharping the chisel edge by now just can't seem to get the chip out.
