I have just recently started to have a interested in quality knives. I was looking for the fastest folding knife avaible that was quality. A friend from another forum recommend the emerson wave feature, my concern was fast deployement due to restrictions in california. Right now im stuck on which to chose, Id rather have a folding knife that I could take everywhere and not worry about violating any laws. I like the grip on the karambits, but I have no knowledge on the pros for the CQ7. I quit smoking and plan on using the money on starting a bad ass knife collection, so i plan on being a regular on this forum. :D

As far as I know the Wave feature isn't illegal anywhere in the US. Also Emerson is also located in CA so you should be able to carry a Waved knife without problems, as long as you obey any other laws and aren't using it for something stupid.

As for which one is a better knife to get would depend on what you want it for. Are you looking at something for just and EDC user?

The Karambit is a specalized piece , it requires some skill/training to use safley , and isnt too good for utility . On balance I'd pick the 7 , if you get a Karambit , save your local E/R some work and get the videos and trainer .

I have both...the bullsnoe karambit and the CQC- If you wanted, there is a cqc karambit made be emerson....

Personally, I would say go for the cqc-7. It seems to have a better all around, more versitale design.
