emerson mini cqc 7

I'm contemplating a regular 7b. My last EKI was a 2001, I hope the liners are a little thicker on the 08's.

im thinking of getting a mini cqc-7... is it too thick and or heavy for an edc? how easy is it to sharpen?

the mini is the size of a spyderco delica, but weighs a little more and is a little thicker. i have no problems carrying it. i think it makes a fantastic edc.

havent sharpened it yet, but blade is a chisel grind, so it should be pretty easy to sharpen .

how would you say the liner lock compares to a Benchmade?
I'd get one myself but am trying to move away from liner locks

Well, I bought one to have as a colector. That was 2 years ago and I've carried it every day since. Contrary to popular belief, the chisel ground tanto blade makes a wonderful utility knife and is easier to sahrpen then a standard edge.

EKI liner locks are as good (or bad??) as BM liner locks, a few yrs ago EKI was having some issues with locks but they seem to have moved past it the last couple of yrs.

FWIW i have had lock issues on 2 emersons, my SOCFK started slipping after i edc'd it for ~ a year and waved it a LOT, the other was a BM 975SbT, other than that no probs and i have had a few EKI's and carry them daily.

XD45, Can I get a shot of the lockup?

Hey solidsoldier, we picked up a new camera for x-mas and there are about 3 discs of software we have to load on the 'puter before we can start putting pics on there. We're going to work on it today and I'll try to get them up for you tonight at the latest.

I lucked out and found a PE super 7 BT in the sale forum for $145. Mine!

I'll be taking this knife to my tat artist to have a realistic tat of it done on both arms.

Man I am SOOOOOO sorry it took so long. I never knew a camera would be such a pain in the ass. Here is the pic of the lock up on my Mini CQC-7. Sorry for long delay :o.

Thanks for getting back to me. The super 7 I'm buying is an 05, hopefully that is a good year.

I would imagine so. I picked mine up from the sales forum as well. It's a little thick but after some time you hardly notice it at all really. Glad to hear you found an Emerson .
