It has been forever since I posted on BF and a while since I've purchased a knife. Though a week ago or so I bought a 2014 plain edge Horseman SF. I've had my eye on the Horseman, Gentleman Jim and Roadhouse for a while, though the a good deal on the Horseman came up on the exchange here, so that was first.
So far so good. The knife feels great in hand, with the handle guard/choil making everything really secure. Is there a proper name for that?
In any case, I am thinking of ways to customize it. A 38 special casing for the thumbstud would be cool, though not sure how to cheaply acquire 1. Does anyone have or know somebody with some casings laying around? The cheapest I've seen is $16 for a case of 200 used ones. Though I only need 1 or 2. Worst case, I make a bunch and trade/sell them on here.
Tempted to making my own scales too, Emerson's definitely lend themselves for making scales.
Some pics too.
The Horseman with the Para-Military 2 I'd occasionally carry and the Native 5 I carried daily for some time too.

The thickness is appreciated too. The Horseman is one scale thicker than the PM2. Hopefully you can make that out in the photo.
