Good morning guys. I'm on the fence about an Emerson Delica, and here is why. Years ago I ruined a Police Model by wrist flicking it open. The up and down blade play is horrendous. It's almost like I peened that notch where the lock goes causing a larger hole causing that up/down play. Now I've tried numerous Emerson opening knives (ZT & Emerson), and they really whack open with authority when opened this way. Over time will the Endura get the same loose blade notch as my old Police from the constant hard opening of the Emerson wave feature? Basically.....does Emerson waving open the Delica over time beat it up causing up & down play? Thanks in advance.

I absolutely love my waved deilica! I have had it for about 8 months and it was the first waved knife I had picked up ( I wanted to try the wave feature but really wanted another spydie) so I have opened and closed it a ton to get used to using the wave. It is still rock solid and if it did manage to get loose Im sure you could just tighten the pivot a little or if the problems persists Id bet Spyderco would help you out.

I don't think waving the knife is as hard on the lock as a flick.

Unless when you wave the knife you also continue your swing as hard as you can & rip the pocket off your pants in the same motion.
