Emerson Persian???

Nice looking blade. I think it would be great in the kitchen as a chopper slicer. Big and expensive though.

The Persian is a knife I have had a problem with for many years and I have been carrying one for just about as long.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Persian, the lines are just perfect, the handle is spot on for any grip you can think of.
The blade is just right as well, good belly to it with a nice point and enough length to be handy but not silly.
If I had to pick out negatives the length of the knife when closed is pretty long but the handle is also slim enough
for it to be carried with the overall size being an issue.
The poing is also very fine but if you respect that its not a big issue either.

Here is a few pics of a standard Persian and one of my favorites with a
frame lock done by STR and regrind doen by Tom Krein.

The Persian is my favorite EDC and my favorite production knife ever. You won't be disappointed!

the P-tacs are cool knives, the ECA ones with the zero bevel grind blades are the best if ya can find/afford them.

The Emerson Persian has been discontinued. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for one.:D:thumbup:

I heard rumors mentioned that if enough people sparked an interest in a production or former-production Emerson Knife that Emerson might do a limited re-production run of what-ever knife, in this case the Persian Tactical!

Has anyone else heard this or would agree that this might be possible. I know it's ALWAYS Business(ie; what's good for profits on the manufacture's side of the house) but I believe Emerson loves making knives just as much as they love the people/fan-base they serve!

Would anyone else like to have a Emerson Persian Tactical Folder in their collection, or is it just me?

If we all contact Emerson and show enough interest, we might be able to acquire this Legendary Piece of Craftsmanship from a Legendary Knife Maker!

I think the Persian is one of the most wicked looking folders of folders of all time. The only negative I can think of, is that it's not waved, but that might ruin it's very sleek look. Now that it's discontinued I'm thinking of buying a second one before they're all gone. The Persian is also cheaper than most of the CQC's.

With the curve of the Persian if it was waved there is a good chance it might bite it's owner upon opening.

That said I have one that I had Phil/ferrrk put thicker liners & green canvas Micarta scales on. Great feeling knife in hand, but not good to pull out in the office to open an envelope.

i wave mine with the thumbstud and its never bit me or my clothes so i dont know that it would if it was waved, i think it looks better not waved myself.

the coolest ones are the ECA ZBG hand ground blade P-Tacs but they are hard to find, they only made IIRC 120, and expensive if ya can find one.

sure has been a lotta talk about P-tacs the last few weeks, maybe he should do a run of 'em?

I scored my gotta-have-it Persian this past Fall after contacting Emerson and learning there would be a production run ready in mid October. I received mine just in time for my birthday!
The Persian was offered on the Emerson website until Feb. 2010...then "no longer available".
My advice to those craving a P-Tac is to call the Emerson folks and make your desires known. If you're lucky they will tell you when more will be available. At the least you'll add your voice to the discriminating group of knife lovers who just can't live without the finest production folder.
And yes, mine is EDC!
Good luck.

I found mine on a forum. Every website is sold out and it's no longer on the emerson website. I reprofiled mine to a V bevel as opposed to the Chisel grind. The tip is very delicate i actually broke it slicing a water bottle then reprofiled it and changed the bevel. Excellent knife though one of my favorites.
