Hey guys I'm thinking about getting a pimp job done on an Emerson. Wondering who you guys would recommend? Also would you guys use a new or used? I'm think about picking up a used cqc7bw and using it if one ever comes up on the exchange.

It all depends on what you want done to your knife. If you are going to void the warranty, buy a used knife. If you want to keep it stock and only have some scales made, then get either a new or lightly used one. There are a lot of guys who work on knives, look at the Custom Shop for guys offer their services.
FYI, some of the best work I had done was by a Friend who likes to tinker with stuff. He's not on the Services Provider list....yet.

I wonder if anyone makes custom blue/black g10 scales for the patriot yet. I would definitely be interested in that and might make me go and buy the patriot/my first emerson.

Here's a few for inspiration! :-P

Here is what NATH did to a Patriot for me, now it's my everyday EDC.

Other than the color, those look like the scales of an Emerson custom. Is this a Custom, or is it a production version with custom look-alike scales?

it's a production that's been converted to a bolsterlock, and uses similar micarta to the Emerson customs.

I've had some of my knives take several months, and price depends on what's being done. I've spent more than the cost of a brand new Sebenza on a couple that I've had him do. It usually starts out reasonable enough, but then I ending up getting thicker Ti, contouring, satin finishing, Ti standoffs, etc...it can get up there.

What I can say about all my Nathawut conversions though, is that they are jaw-dropping, and the work is perfectly executed. Custom knifemakers, aficionados, and even the EKI booth at knife shows are blown away.

Haha I haven't even received it yet. I've always wanted a 15 and just so happens I found one pimped out.
