Does anyone know, who'd be willing to divulge the info, what the size/thread pitch is of the current pivot screw on Emerson knives? I know they sell them on the Emerson website but I can't spring $8 for a single screw :(

Not sure brother, but I have a extra one that has the black coating polished off, if you want it you can have it.., just PM me your address..

I'm still curious to what the answer is though. I would like to have options for my pivot, besides my standard pivot and nath's pivot.

Easier way to find out would be to stop by any hardware store and take the pivot with you.

Or stop by Harbor Freight and get some cheap calipers, and order a "Screw Chek'r" for the thread size/pitch or for SAE sizes I believe you can find them at Sears Hardware. Also most tap and die sets have thread pitch gauges included with them.

I have most of this stuff, if anyone in Sterling/Reston/Herndon, VA area has similar questions.

OP, if you don't get an answer or the screw that you get is wrong, I have a recent CQC-7, let me know if you need it identified.

I tried that route prior to posting here as I have a local hardware store with an extensive fastener section. Every screw they said was the correct size felt either too sloppy or too tight and I didn't want to damage the threads putting the wrong thing in there...

Too slow on the reply... just sent my knives off to be sharpened. I will check CQC when it returns. Hopefully it uses the same pivot screw as your knife.

On the same note, I recently was having issues on a new CQC-8 pivot. (I believe the backer/nut was defective. Either cross threaded or actually wasnt tapped deep enough) I priced ono out on Emerson's website... I live in Canada and with duty/border charges it would have cost me over $100!!!!! Anyway I sent an Email to Emerson and the next day they sent one to me express and free of charge! Awesome customer service, replaced the nut, works like butter, centers perfect, awesome blade!

It's on the way brother ... sorry working two jobs, should be there this week sometime, I added a lil surprise too :D

Looks like the OP is taken care of, but just in case someone comes across this thread in a search my 2012 dated Emerson CQC-7B has a 10-32 pivot screw. My calipers are at my friend's shop at the moment but I'll try to get all the important dimensions when I can.
