Those field craft styled fixed blades look great, with thinner blade stock they would be great in the kitchen too
 
They are all very nice, and I think it's good for EKI to expand their scope. No personal interest in them, but I hope they are very popular.

EKI really makes knives that are tools rather than gadgets

IMO there is too few brands with this purpose nowadays

a knife should always be a tool over a gadget, unfortunately EKI(whose designs I LOVE)…. is overpriced given the materials.

I am agree with that.
Actually I understand the choice of material but for sure 25-30% cheaper would make more sense
 
I DO understand the materials to price argument, but frankly, virtually all knives are overpriced when that metric is applied to them. But, I get it - folks are likely saying "Emerson's materials to cost ratio is even more out of whack".
