Looking at getting my first Emerson and have narrowed it down to the PUK or the Commander.

New to knives and would appreciate some input from those with the knowledge (you people). Pros and Cons if you know them.

Cheers.
Mason.

The Commander is a great knife to start with, I started my Emerson collection with the Mini Commander and trust me it would not be your only Emerson once you get the first one.

of the 2 listed i would choose the commander, i never really liked the PUK, its "ok" but imho the emerson mystiqe is more with folders vs fixed, i prefer bud nealy's stuff in FB's,

i would start with either a CQC12 or CQC13 myself, imho the '12 is the very best production EKI.

the commander is indeed an excellent knife but i agree the 12 is better and the best folder EKI offer, the frame lock puts it above the commander for sure.

I like the commander, but I haven't had the opportunity to use the other knives mentioned either. The commander has worked out great for me, the blade shape has proven to be great at chopping and other various tasks.

For me, for EDC it simply has to be a folder....better yet if it is waved. Out in the bush, a fixed blade would be fine but still I don't think I have carried one in many years.

For utility use, I wouldn't want the curved blade of the Commander, so I would pick the PUC or my CQC-10 or 12.
