Thanks Derek for your reply. I mentioned not going through Emerson Knives because I had contacted you guys a few years back and was basically told the same thing.
I have never understood why orange handled folders have never had a larger following. I can't tell you how many times while I've dropped a black handled or scaled folder only to lose it in the shadows on the ground. This was especially common during those few years in the Army. Spyderco Enduras seemed to become a part of the ground. I actually used to have an Orange Endura, just for that reason. Not to mention that orange looks a lot less sinister than black.
Ironically one of the most sought after knives among my buddies and people I met were the orange scaled MC1's, especially the one's made my Scharade. Knew more old crusty SF Msgts. with those than Emersons.
It's been three years since I've been in a unit, but I'd be interested to see what the average knife is these days. If soldiers are able to find the production CQC7s for around a hundred dollars, bet they are in quite a few pockets. Has Emerson knives made any attempt to offer production knives to AFFEES?
It would be really awesome if you could, but I don't know anything about the buying/selection process, but I know you can by Spydero knives at EVERY PX, shoppe, or clothing and sales on every post.
